This is the photographic story of the restoration of Ferrari Dino 246 GTS #7836 by Jon and Jeff Gunderson (father and son).
In the latter part of 2005 I found myself with some extra time and decided to do something I always dreamed about. The dream was to restore a car, not just any car, but a 246 Ferrari Dino; the car I was most passionate about.
Over a 35 year time span I had owned several Dino’s, always looking for a better one. Although I had no experience, I decided I would buy another and in my mind make it the best Dino on the planet. Maybe not original in every aspect, but exactly how I wanted it.
In a little over 2 years, my son and I disassembled the car, refurbished every part, and reassembled it. In April of 2008 we finished the project and felt we had reached our goal. The best part was spending two years with my son Jeff, working on a very difficult and challenging project and seeing it through to completion.
We hope you enjoy the website Jeff has put together for other Dino enthusiasts to use and enjoy. To see the entire process including commentary, go to the Ferrari Chat Thread.
